I've never taken boudoir photos before so this part of the session was a bit intimidating for me, but seeing as boudoir is making a comeback in recent years, I thought I would give it my best shot. We all were really enjoying this clawfoot tub in the room a few doors down, and the light coming from the window to the left, making for a well-lit scene. I do wish I employed the use of my reflector to eliminate cast shadows on the bed, but I was already pretty tired at that point.

I'm still going through all of the photos but I hope to have some more up before I leave for my weekend getaway to the L.A. area! Expect some photos from that trip as well.

On Monday I had the pleasure of attending my first photography workshop with Alexandra Wallace. I left feeling inspired and motivated. I also got to take my new 35mm lens along and used it for all of the images you see here. The weather was perfect and the setting was gorgeous. Our main focus was on fashion and boudoir photography, since those are the topics that most inquiring minds are curious about when approaching Alli on advice about photography. Rest assured I will most likely be booking a stay at the Alamo Motel in the near future. Nestled in the quiet little town of Los Alamos, it was the perfect little roadside getaway with a retro southwestern theme. We shot in room 14 and the outside of the motel, as well as another room with an awesome clubfoot bathtub for the boudoir portion of the photoshoot. I particularly loved the way these photos turned out with the saturation of color. The model was so easy to work with and was up for anything, and was completely gorgeous, and the makeup was stunning. I had a hard time picking which ones I thought were best but settled on these after much deliberation for this photoset. Overall I had a lovely day and can't wait to get out shooting again! I will be working on the rest of the photos as the week progresses, and hope to have them up by Friday. A special thanks goes to Alli for putting this altogether and to the girls who attended with me who were so nice and friendly! You all made for a wonderful experience.
